ROCK CANDY pre-order!!

...Rock Candy can be pre-ordered! I'm so thrilled! Rock Candy is ready and is available for pre-order as I type. This book is the first publication of my artwork with pieces from the past years which includes sketches, drawings and inspiration examples. Designer Jacob Covey added many lovely details to the book which all match perfectly with the atmosphere of my work.

Go to the Fantagraphics website to pre-order your copy now!!

Also, Fanta's Jacob Covey send me this photo of a pile of books someone bought at the San Diego Comic Con. It shows Rock Candy, cozy club sandwiched between James Jean, Bwana Spoons and Dave McKean (and 100 girls on cheap paper). ...Sweet!!

(Fantagraphics had some advance copies of Rock Candy so a few lucky Comic Conners already got a copy!)

Darling, Cheese head

I often like to sing along with music and sometimes I look up the lyrics of a track. Today I heard 'The Israelites' on the radio. I don't feel the need to really know that one because I enjoy singing the alternative version of Desmond Dekker's 1989 hit much better.
(At that time I even thought The Israelites was a Bob Dylan song because of the Subterranean Homesick Blues quote. "...Hmm, Bob Dylan sure is versatile!').

Lowlands Buttonmania

This weekend (August 22 & 23) I'll be making custom badge ('button') designs at the Lowlands festival again. Imagine just how sweet your muddy, beer stained shirt will look with a personal touch like that, ey? Come look for me at the Buzzworks booth to get a wearable original of your own. Artists friends like Erik Kriek, Ingrid Bockting, Luuk Bode, Flo -and many others- will be there too.
(LL pic's by Buzzworks Peter Giljam, 2006).

The Apocalypse Show

Copro Nason Gallery in Santa Monica will be hosting the next BLAB! show (with an amazing line-up!) which is themed 'The Apocalyptic End of the World'. Joy! Opening: Saturday August 8th, 8 pm. Wish I could be there...
(The frames of my Apocalypse works 'начало' & 'конец' were handmade by Leon de Groot).
